Mission : Chapter 1 Movie Synopsis:
Mission : Chapter 1 Movie Review: There's several finely curated and whistle-worthy but largely over-the-top fight sequences in Mission Chapter 1 that perfectly elevate its lead, Arun Vijay. It also helps that the actor has the stoic screen presence that helps in successfully translating these moments on-screen. He is up against the antagonist played by Bharat Bopanna, who definitely has the dominating physicality that's needed for the character, but the role mostly demands him to just furiously stare at the camera.
The scene in which Arun Vijay's Gunasekaran puts on his action hero shoes and beats up the goons in order to let the audience know that he is no ordinary man is one of those supposed to be mass moments that's a requisite for an actioner like Mission Chapter 1. When a guy shouts ‘You bloody Indian’ to our hero, we know what is going to follow. His inner mass hero is going to come out, and he will obviously beat up the goons all by himself. But the moment works way better on the screen, and GV Prakash Kumar’s exhilarating music plays a big part in making you feel this way.
But with that said, overall, Mission Chapter 1 is an actioner that has a generic template and an effective cast, excluding a somewhat out-of-place Amy Jackson. But sadly, other than Arun Vijay, all the other actors are restricted to the sidelines, including the ever-reliable Nimisha Sajayan and Iyal (the go-to child artiste of present-day Tamil cinema).
