Boomer Uncle Movie Review : Boomer Uncle aims for absurdity, lands in exhaustion

Boomer Uncle Movie Synopsis:

Boomer Uncle Movie Review: Boomer Uncle aims for lighthearted absurdity, but struggles to find its comedic footing. The film relies on slapstick, buffoonery, and outlandish plot twists, yet the result is more exhausting than funny. The premise, involving a group of dimwitted men lusting after two women while a mad-scientist plot unfolds, is as ridiculous as it is unfunny.

Yogi Babu tries to bring energy to the film, but the script’s focus on frantic gags overshadows his comedic talents. The supporting characters, particularly Nesam’s friends, lack depth and their infatuations with the female leads is unfunny at best. The puerile humour grows tiresome, leaving little room for genuine laughter.

Boomer Uncle also suffers from a reliance on tacky visual effects and a loud, unrelenting score. These elements further detract from any potential comedic timing or character development. The film’s second half takes a turn for the worse, descending from tedium into outright absurdity. The final reveal about the film’s title feels like too little, too late, leaving the audience indifferent.

The limited setting of only a few rooms in the mansion doesn’t make things any better. Seshu’s character is given ample screen time. While he narrates the events to a producer and plays a significant role, his character is reduced to a vehicle for loud, jarring humour. It's a waste of his talents. Oviya looks good, but one wonders if 'Oviya of Bigg Boss' billing is out of place.

Boomer Uncle is a comedy misfire, a barrage of noise and frantic energy that fails to amuse.
